The Great Care Co-op

The Great Care Co-op is Ireland's first care workers cooperative.  We are a not for profit social enterprise delivering socially-focused home care and support services to enable people to live well and thrive at home as they age.  GCC was founed by migrant women, all care workers, who set up the cooperative to address poor employment in home care. We believe great care and great jobs are intrinsically linked and that by investing in frontline care staff and their employment, we invest in the client and achieve better outcomes.  We are a start-up home care cooperative operating in the Dublin south/ Norht Wicklow area. 

GCC support people to live a full life at home with the support of family, friends and their community, keeping socially connected to avoid isolation and loneliness, doing things that matter to them to prevent boredom and helplessness, and keeping physically active to prevent poor health. 

GCC uses self-managed principles to deliver a neighbourhood care model. We are an approvder HSE provider  and part of the National Not for Profit Community CAre Network (NCCN).

GCC is part of the local network of services and work in partnership in the locally community to support people to age successfully throughout their life course.
