Treasurer

An Taisce - The National Trust for Ireland is looking to recruit a Board member to fulfil the role of Treasurer. 

 Description of Role:

The Board member, acting as Treasurer, will have strategic responsibility for the financial oversight of An Taisce, liaising with an accountancy firm and the managers of the respective units of the organisation.  

S/he will also play an active part on An Taisce’s Board which provides direction and governance and is answerable to a nationwide Council. The Board also supports and advises on the day-to-day operations of the organisation. 

Board members are required to vote on and implement resolutions, sharing responsibility for the prudent fiscal management of the organisation.

 

Candidate Profile: 

Extensive experience in accounting and or / auditing including ACA / FCA qualification would be highly desirable. Experience in corporate / NGO governance in particular and /or business and organisational development would also be desirable. Familiarity with the Governance Code of the Charities Regulator and SORP accounting principles would be welcome. 

 

Board Terms and Participation:

Attendance is required at Board meetings which take place every month with  Committee meetings taking place at least every two months.

Education: Our Environmental Education Unit is responsible for developing and operating some of Ireland's most popular and successful environmental programmes and campaigns including Green Schools and Blue Flags.
