Not-For-Profit Information

Louth Volunteer Centre is funded by central government to Strengthen and Support Volunteering in County Louth. 2020 is an exciting year for the organisation as we deliver a significant PEACE IV funded project; will double our projected year on year income and are embarking on the development of a new strategic plan for the organisation. We have also secured LEADER funding to deliver the first County Strategic Plan for Volunteering in Ireland.

Our vision is that volunteering is a part of the way of life in Louth and that County Louth will be the best county in Ireland to volunteer in. Our mission is to help people find meaningful opportunities to volunteer and to enable local non-profit organisations to involve volunteers in their work.

We have four strategic aims: To promote awareness of the benefits of volunteering; to increase access to volunteering; to increase quality in volunteering and to ensure the organisation's effectiveness and sustainability to deliver.

We provide a free support service to individuals who would like to volunteer and community / not for profit organisations who involve, or wish to involve, volunteers in their work. In 2018 and 2019 we delivered the Fleadh Cheoil na hÉireann volunteer programme in Drogheda, directly recruiting, training and managing hundreds of volunteers at the biggest festival of Irish traditional music and culture in the world. We are one of the busiest volunteer centres in Ireland and our team contribute to policy development in relation to volunteering and volunteerism at local and national level.
