Kilkenny SPCA is one of the oldest Animal Welfare Organisations in Ireland, founded in 1882 by the Marchioness of Ormond at Ormond Castle Kilkenny. We are affiliated to the ISPCA. Our activities cover many aspects of Animal Welfare in County Kilkenny, and sometimes beyond in collaboration with other local Animal Welfare organisations and SPCA's. We support the aims of similarly minded Animal Welfare Organisations throughout Ireland and the World. Freedom from hunger, thirst and malnutrition; Freedom from discomfort; Freedom from disease and injury; Freedom to behave normally and Freedom from distress and fear.
