KARE is an innovative and progressive voluntary HSE Section 38 organization, committed to providing an individualized service based on best practice to over 400 children and adults with intellectual disabilities and their families.

Established in 1967, the organization is in existence 50 years and has developed and grown to provide a full range of high quality services in Mid/South Kildare, East Offaly, West Wicklow and North East Carlow. KARE works with each individual who uses the services to support them to develop their skills and abilities so that they can live the life of their choice.
KARE strives for continuous improvement and best practice in all it does. The organization is accredited at European Foundation for Quality Management (EFQM) Recognised for Excellence 5-star level and were 2016 EFQM Ireland Excellence Award winners.

 Key relationships are with the service users and their families, the Board of Directors, the HSE at National and Regional levels and other organisations representing the interest of service users and their families.

KARE’s Vision is that individuals with an intellectual disability are seen as equals and take part in society along with everyone else.

KARE’s Mission is to work together to that individuals who use the service are supported to live fulfilled life.
