Tallaght University Hospital was formed in 1998 through the merging of the Adelaide, Meath and National Childrens' Hospitals, with the base hospitals converting into charitable foundations.
Originally known as the Adelaide Hospital Society, and now the Adelaide Health Foundation [AHF], we are based in Tallaght University Hospital [TUH].
We support education and research to advance and promote equitable access to healthcare services in Ireland, with a particular focus on TUH and the community it serves.
AHF's main objectives are:
to improve healthcare in the local community
to deliver actionable healthcare research
to support access to education for healthcare students and staff.
Our work programmes include the following:
- Nomination of students for admission to TR093/Adelaide School of Nursing to undertake BSc Nursing (General) in Trinity College, Dublin.
- Delivery of a means tested Bursary Scheme for eligible students, which includes a dedicated strand for mature students.
- Support of projects in Tallaght University Hospital and in the local community.
- Funding of healthcare research in line with AHF mission and values.
