VOICE of Irish Concern for the Environment (VOICE), an environmental charity about to celebrate its 25th anniversary, is looking to expand its current board by taking on 2-3 new board members.  We need people who have experience in the following areas: legal, HR, IT, lobbying, governance, comms/PR and of course fundraising.  Our board meets around 5 times a year.  VOICE has been growing in recent years and we need a more diverse set of skills.

VOICE promotes the wise use of natural resources through waste prevention and the expansion of the circular economy across all sectors.  We work on a top down and bottom up basis, engaging and proposing ambitious policy initiatives at the national and EU level as well as developing and running national and community based outreach programmes encouraging positive behavioural change.

Some of our campaigns include:

The Conscious Cup Campaign to encourage the use of reusable coffee cups

Picker Pals, a primary school programme promoting environmental stewardship among students who go on weekly litter picking adventures with their families

Sick of Plastic campaign to raise awareness on the problems with single use plastics.  It promotes individual action to push supermarkets to reduce their plastic packaging and pivoting towards more reusable and refillable alternatives.

Return For Change Campaign which advocates for an ambitious Drinks Container Deposit Refund Scheme to collect valuable plastic bottles and aluminium cans to be recycled.

Zero Waste Communities -- we engage with local communities and assist them in developing zero waste roadmaps to reduce the amount of waste they generate.
