Youngballymun is part of the Area- Based Childhood (ABC) programme focused on improving wellbeing and learning outcomes for children. The ABC Programme aims to break the cycle of poverty in areas where children are most disadvantaged, using evidence based programmes and supporting integrated service delivery.
Youngballymun’s vision is that children and families in Ballymun are physically and emotionally healthy and secure and have multiple opportunities to reach their full potential.
Youngballymun works collaboratively with our partner organisations to deliver better outcomes for children and families to make this vision a reality.
We work with families from pre- birth to primary school age in the area. We have four main strands of work to help carry out our aims: Infant & Early Years Mental Health: Parent – Child Relationships; Social & Emotional Wellbeing; Family & Community Language & Literacy and Prevention & Early Intervention Policy and Partnership.
Frontline delivery; Baby Massage; Talk & Play Everyday; COS Parenting Programme; Home Visiting Therapeutic Programme; Incredible Years and Parents Plus programmes; Story Sacks and Hug Your Book.
Capacity building of practitioners: Infant & Early Years Mental Health Courses & Reflective Supervision; Mental Health Learning Network; Oral Language Forum & Family Literacy Network. Family Language and Literacy Workshops for local practitioners
