Not-For-Profit Information

UCDVO is a charity offering students, staff and alumni of University College Dublin the opportunity to engage in voluntary work in the developing world. With current projects in India, Uganda and Tanzania, UCDVO works alongside the local communities and partner NGOs in these regions in carrying out small-scale development projects which respond to local needs. UCDVO works on projects in the areas of education, healthcare, community development.

UCDVOs main object is to relieve poverty in the developing world, through development projects funded by and run by UCD students who, together with locals, will carry out voluntary work overseas.

By channelling the skills, energy and enthusiasm of university students into such activities, communities can access a source of support in their efforts to improve living conditions in their area. UCDVO not only provides opportunities for volunteers and host communities to share and develop skills, it also generates greater understanding and respect for differing cultures and life experiences.
