Spraoi

Waterford Spraoi is a professional street arts company with local, national and international briefs. Spraoi is perhaps best known for its annual Spraoi International Street Arts Festival, an annual three-day event that attracts performers from around the world and very substanial audiences. The festival attracts public and private sector funding and all events are free. Waterford Spraoi operates as a not for profit social enterprise and its legal structure is Company Limited by Guarantee. It is a national leader in its field in the arts and enjoys strong support in its community.

The organistation is based at Spraoi Studios, Irelands only purpose built street arts facility.  It is there in the Studios that Spraoi devises, designs and builds street spectacle and parade productions that feature in events both locally and nationally, e.g. St Patricks Day festivities throughout Ireland. The company is regularly commissioned to create productions ranging from 'Pride Parades' to Tall Ships Races' and similar large scale celebratory events. The company employs a small team and contracts artists and technicians seasonally throughout the year.
