Sexual Violence Centre Cork has been providing services to victims of violence since 1983. The Centre was formerly known as Cork Rape Crisis Centre and changed to its current name in 2004, to better reflect the nature and breath of service provision and reflect the experiences of survivors. The Centre operates telephone helpline, provides support, advocacy, information, accompaniment crisis support, counselling and therapy to female and male victims of violence aged 14 and over. The Centre has awareness raising and educational projects geared towards the prevention of violence.
