Not-For-Profit Information

Rialto Youth Project (RYP) is seeking committed, skilled, and community based values people to join our Voluntary Board of Management.

Established in the early 1980s, Rialto Youth Project has grown as a community-based organisation supporting children, young people, and families in Rialto and the wider community. For over four decades, we have worked to ensure that young people are supported, empowered, and given opportunities to thrive.

About Our Work

RYP delivers a wide range of youth work methodologies including:

  • Two community-based afterschool projects, supporting children aged 5+,

  • A dedicated Youth Work Team working with young people aged 10–24 years focusing on educational support and social, emotional, and creative development through:

    • Non-formal education programmes

    • Outreach and street work

    • One-to-one support

    • Critical social education

    • Arts-based youth work

  • Wraparound supports, including:

    • Family Support Worker

    • Well-being & Therapeutic Worker

    • Youth Service Support Worker.

    • Strong collaboration with local community groups and national partners.

Rialto Youth Project has always approached youth work from a community development perspective Since its foundation, the young people we have worked with have been ‘at risk’ because of structural class inequality, unemployment, poor housing conditions, lack of educational opportunities, addiction issues and other factors contributing to social exclusion and poverty.

  • Rialto Youth Project has defined its mission as follows: In an age of inequality, where working class communities are oppressed, the Rialto Youth Project is working towards bringing about social change, providing an integrated youth service, based on the needs of young people and in particular those most at risk. In practice, this has involved a particular commitment to Dolphin House and Fatima and the wider Rialto Area.

Board members play a vital role in:

  • Providing strategic vision and supporting the organisation’s mission, values, and long-term sustainability

  • Oversight of governance, compliance, and financial accountability

  • Supporting and strengthening leadership and organisational development

This is a voluntary role, but one that offers the opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of children, young people, and families.

We welcome People With Experience or Interest In:

  • Youth work, community development, education, or social care

  • Finance, legal, HR, fundraising, or strategic planning

  • Community activism or lived experience of participating in youth and community-based work

We are committed to diversity and inclusion and strongly encourage applications from people with a connection to the local community.

Please email: dannielle@rialtoyouthproject.net if you have an interest in joining our board. We look forward to hearing from you.
