Parentline has been in Existence for over 30 years. Parentline is a national, confidential and non-judgemental helpline for parents and carers. Our volunteers will listen, support and provide information on all aspects of parenting.
Parentline is the national helpline for Peri Natal Depression giving support and guidance to new and expectant mothers and fathers and Parentline facilitates the Non Violent Response programme to help parents who experience child to parent violence.
This year our volunteers took over 4000 calls from parents under stress. Our specially trained NVR programme volunteers facilitated over 200 parents in one to one, over the phone, Weekly sessions over 6-8 weeks.
The Parentline Board is committed to good governance and to this end it has spent many hours improving, updating and developing our policies to make them more relevant to today's challenges. Parentline has never been busier. It provides an increasingly necessary service to parents all over Ireland.
The Board is cognisant of the fact that we need more expertise to enhance it and help to guide Parentline into the next stage of its growth.
