The Organic Centre was founded in 1995 to provide training and education, information and demonstration of organic gardening, growing and sustainable living.
The centre is a pioneer in Organics and focuses on promoting organic horticulture and sustainable living through training, public information, advocacy and demonstrating best practice. It is situated on a 19 acre site near Rossinver in North leitrim, and offers a visitor garden, eco shop, polytunnels, two training rooms and office space. In collaboration with our partners in MSLETB the centre offers a year round QQI accredited level 5 course in Organic growing. The Organic Centre designs and delivers between 80 - 100 weekend courses thoughout the calender year and offers courses for the beginner to more skilled grower, to those new to organic work and to anyone aged 15+ who wnats to learn more about climate change, biodiversity and organic horticulture. We are a community resource and offer a braod range of volunteer opportunities, free accessible events and community groups inclusing a Paretns and Toddler group and a community gardeners group. We also promote and use therapeutuc horticulture, work with local artists and communities and provide 40+ workshops to schools every year.
