One in Four provides professional counselling and advocacy services to men and women who have experienced sexual abuse in childhood, support to their families and a sex offender treatment programme.
A nine-member Board leads the organisation in implementing its strategic vision. An Executive Director reports to the Board.
Our team of counsellors and advocacy officers support 900 people each year to overcome the impact of child sexual abuse on their lives.
We are also active in influencing and awareness raising. We work to ensure that our clients' experiences are reflected in national policy and legislation and we seek to raise public awareness regarding the incidence of sexual abuse and the needs of survivors.
For One in Four, the world will be a better place when we end the trauma of child sexual abuse. We aim to do this through psychotherapy, advocacy and prevention services.
Our counselling programme provides individual and group counselling to adult survivors.of child sexual abuse
Our advocacy programme facilitates clients to engage with the criminal justice system and in notifying child protection concerns to the Child and Family Agency.
Our sex offender programme works to support offenders to live offence-free lives, working closely with child protection social workers and the Gardai in managing offenders to live safely in the community.
Our family support programmes help families to understand and deal with the impact of child sexual abuse.
We engage actively with policy makers at all levels to ensure that legislation and policy meet our clients needs.
