Not-For-Profit Information

Ireland has the highest rate of Ocular Melanoma in the world.  A rare and poorly researched  aggressive  eye cancer with no known cause and for  over half of people diagnosed unfortuntely  the cancer spreads (metastasis) usually to the liver.

There is no successful treatment once it spreads elsewhere in the body.  OcuMel Irl  Ireland is a small not for profit Organisation made up of patients  and caregivers hoping  to register as a charity as we support patients, work with our colleagues internationally and support UCD scientists who have recently commenced exciting work as part of a European collaboration to find a successful treatment.

OcuMel Irl has agreed a constitution and is ready to form a  company limited by guarantee so as to apply for charity status.
