Not-For-Profit Information

Mercy Family Centre is a beacon of hope and progress nestled in the heart of Dublin 8. Established in 1980 by the compassionate Sisters of Mercy, our centre has evolved into a dynamic force for positive change, transforming lives and building futures for over four decades.

Our rich history is steeped in a commitment to empower local families, and in 2001, the Sisters entrusted the centre to the community, marking a transformative chapter. With generous donations under the National Development Plan and The Health Service Executive, we expanded our facilities, enhancing our capacity to provide essential services to children and families. Today, the Mercy Family Centre stands as a testament to resilience and progress, offering top-notch services to a community undergoing significant structural and demographic changes.

Our mission is clear: to provide direct, innovative programs that empower children, families, and individuals to reach their full potential. We are dedicated to offering the highest quality early childhood education, afterschool programs, adult education, and support services to parents and the community at large. At the core of our mission is the creation of an environment where everyone - children, parents, and teachers - can thrive, learn, and emotionally and intellectually connect, contributing to something better for themselves and the community.

Our exceptional early year care and education have touched the lives of over 150 families, fostering deep and lasting bonds between children, parents, and teachers. Our fully trained and committed educators work collaboratively with parents, recognizing each child's unique qualities and potential.

In the realm of adult education, our broad programs cater to individuals seeking knowledge, personal growth, and professional development. Our international student population enriches the learning environment, bringing diverse experiences and perspectives to the forefront.

The Mercy Family Centre isn’t just a service provider; we are a community. With a dedicated team of over 35 staff representing various nationalities and cultures, we make a real difference every day. Our model embraces change and evolution, addressing the impact of globalisation, Al, relationships, and isolation. Through group supervision, staff training, and group parental supports, we integrate the worlds of parents, teachers, and children, fostering emotional connections and language development.

Support services are at the core of our offerings, guiding families and parents through the changing dynamics of the community and the world. We are a community connected to other agencies and essential support services, committed to making a tangible difference.

At the Mercy Family Centre, we believe in creating a space for support and development, helping families work through difficulties and problems as they connect with their children's schools, work, and personal development. Our model emphasizes early intervention, supporting children and parents in addressing challenges early on, providing a solid foundation for navigating difficulties and thinking ahead.
