Not-For-Profit Information

Mental Health Ireland is a national voluntary organisation working with Mental Health Associations, partner and affiliate organisations active across the Republic of Ireland. Founded in 1966, our focus has been on promoting Positive Mental Health and Wellbeing for people with lived experience of mental health challenges. Mental Health Ireland is the longest established national mental health charity in Ireland and throughout our history we and our network of Mental Health Associations have played a central role in reshaping how the public understand mental health challenges.

Our current strategic plan, Educating, Empowering and Connecting Communities 2025 – 2027 launched in March 2025, and sets out 3 key priority areas, which will inform our organisational goals over the next 3 years. Our objective aims are to advance greater public understanding, empathy and support for people with lived experience of mental health challenges, their loved ones and bring general public awareness through Mental Health Promotion and educational activities locally, regionally and nationally.
