Macnas is an award-winning theatre, spectacle and processional company. We theatrically transform and perform visually dynamic and stunning work indoors and outdoors. The company has excited and inspired audiences with performances as diverse as U2s Zooropa Tour; Millennium parade in New York City; WOMADelaide, South Australia; Chaoyang Spring Carnival, Beijing while performing at all the major festivals in Ireland.

Macnas aim to produce a dynamic and innovative repertoire of work. 2014-2016 which will see Macnas return to its theatre making roots, staging innovative, immersive, site-responsive theatre. This artistic strategy illustrates a conscious move by the company to diversify its artistic base, to access new audiences and to establish alternative funding streams via a box office system to support innovation and excellence within the sector. Macnas will collaborate with venues, festivals and organisations to help realise this work. In expanding its artistic programme Macnas can now engage with new artists and disciplines cultivating new relationships with audiences, communities and artists.

In addition to the diversification of its programme, Macnas will continue to tour smaller scale street shows from its existing repertoire solidifying the companys commitment to presenting affordable street shows and accessing audiences from all socio-economic and cultural backgrounds. Macnas is also committed to presenting the annual Macnas parade, the largest artistic street spectacle event in Ireland and has developed a new parade model to sustain this unique civic tradition. This innovative parade model enables Macnas to expand its artistic programme and demonstrates its continual commitment to artistic excellence and development of its genre.

Macnas are also committed to fostering the next generation of artists and developing its third-level education strand in association with the National University of Ireland, Galway.
