Liz Roche Company has been presenting evocative and compelling contemporary dance on Irish and International stages for over 20 years. Unanimously appreciated for its physicality, poetic strength and the cleverness of its intuitive collaborations with other art-forms, the company has become a leading light in the development of contemporary dance in Ireland. Liz Roche is co-founder and Artistic Director and the company is currently in residency with Intraspaces an experimental space for Liz Roche Company and The Irish World Academy at University of Limerick to collaborate on research, performance and pedagogy/training. Recent commissions include Yes and Yes for Solas Nua in Washington DC in partnership with Cork Opera House, Demos for The Abbey Theatre and Dublin Dance Festival,  I/Thou for Cork Opera House in partnership with Sirius Arts Centre inspired by the work of visual artist Brian O'Doherty/Patrick Ireland. The piece then performed at Dublin Dance Festival 2019.  Naher... closer, nearer, sooner in collaboration with theatre -maker Shane O'Reilly was commissioned by Goethe-Institut Ireland,  Pilgrimage for the One Here Now Brian O'Doherty/Patrick Ireland Project 2018 at Sirius Arts Centre Cobh for Cork Midsummer Festival and Totems for reopening of the Milltown and Dargan wings of the National Gallery of Ireland in 2017.
