Lisheens House provides free counselling, support, education and training to help prevent mental distress, self harm and suicide.Since the launch of our service in October 2014 we have helped many people through their time of crisis and assist them on their road to recovery with our free counselling service which can be accessed through our helpline. In August 2016 we opened our Training & Support Centre in Skibbereen which houses not alone counselling services but also a range of complimentary therapies including art,mindfulness, and a classical music library with over 2000 CD's our aim is to further develop our range of training and educational courses and talks that we commenced in 2016 it is this aspect of our services we hope to develop and expand in the coming year. Our overall objective is to create a template for a Community based Mental Health facility that can be scaled and replicated aywhere in the country. To date we have received no state funding.
To help prevent suicide and self harm, to promote recovery and positive mental health. To provide assistance to those in a mental health crisis regardless of their race, religion, sexuality, or status. That neither postcode nor pocket will mitigate against anyone getting the help they need when they need it
