In 1993, GOAL was incorporated as a ‘company limited by guarantee' without a share capital. GOAL is registered with the Company Registration Office (no. 201698) and with the Charities Registration Office (no. 20010980). GOAL is subject to annual reporting and other regulatory requirements under the Irish Charities Act 2009. GOAL is recognised by the Revenue Commissioners as having registered charity status (CHY 6271).
GOAL adheres to a clearly codified, formally structured and agreed set of objects and governing principles, as set out in the Memorandum and Articles of Association of GOAL’s Constitution.
GOAL is led and governed by a board of directors, collectively responsible for: (i) ensuring delivery of organisational objectives; (ii) setting its strategic direction; and (iii) upholding GOAL’s values. The Board is made up entirely of non-executive voluntary directors, of which there are nine. Anne O’Leary is the Chairman of the Board.
