Galway Arts Centre has been at the centre of the arts and cultural development in Galway City and County since 1982. It has been the nurturing seed bed for the origination and growth of some of Galway’s most important cultural interventions including Cúirt International Festival of Literature, Galway Youth Theatre, Red Bird Youth Collective, TULCA Festival of Visual Art and Galway Theatre Festival. The gallery at 47 Dominick Street has acted as the de facto municipal gallery for over 30 years and Galway Arts Centre at Nuns Island is a performance space currently undergoing refurbishment.
