Not-For-Profit Information

FamiliBase is a unique one stop shop working with families, young people and children in Ballyfermot for more than 15 years. A not-for-profit organisation, we are centred in the community working collaboratively to ensure people can achieve their individual potential and reduce the effects of poverty and inequality.

Through a combination of innovative programming and practical supports, our work is led by the needs of the thousands of people we serve, and we see the positive impact daily in our centre. Our annual report highlights the diverse range of programmes and activities that FamiliBase provides.

FamiliBase’s voluntary Board of Directors comprises a dynamic, diverse group of people with a broad range of experience and complementary skills in community development, finance, communications and advocacy, HR and governance. We actively engage with the staff and stakeholders to ensure FamiliBase is governed to the highest standards. We are continually inspired by the impressive care, commitment, professionalism and infectious energy with which the staff meet the challenges and continue to deliver for vulnerable families with complex needs.

The organisation is now developing a new strategic plan to steer its work in the coming years, and we are asking you to consider joining us to contribute to this impactful organisation. You will bring your experience, knowledge and expertise to enhance the work we do. You will be expected to attend at least six Board meetings annually as well as participating in strategic sub-committees.

If you have knowledge and expertise of community development and practice and/or of governance, especially in that sector (e.g. fund-raising, organisational development, strategic planning, communications, digital expertise and advocacy) and if you have a clear commitment to the principles of human rights and social justice, we want to hear from you.  You could have the chance to contribute to an amazing organisation, to learn and to know you are doing something that makes a positive difference for so many.

Please contact us at directors@familibase.ie to express your interest. We look forward to hearing from you!
