Not-For-Profit Information

Education for Sustainability is an award-winning, national not-for-profit social enterprise advancing climate literacy for meaningful change. We work to lay the foundation for a more sustainable future by equipping schools, teachers, communities, business and young people with the knowledge, skills, and confidence to take climate action.
What began as an idea has grown into a national programme. Our 8-week Climate Literacy Teacher Training Programme is now delivered in 25% of Irish schools, supporting educators and students to embed sustainability across curriculum, campus, and community in a practical and impactful way.
To date, we have reached over 50,000 students and trained more than 2,000 teachers. Our work is supported by organisations such as Social Entrepreneurs Ireland, the Community Foundation, and Rethink Ireland, recognising both the impact and scalability of our approach. In 2024, we were honoured to be named Best Social Enterprise at the LAMA Awards.
We collaborate with schools, communities, government bodies, and social enterprises to turn learning into real-world action. At the heart of our work is a simple belief: when young people are given knowledge, creativity, and agency, they rise to the challenge. Education is one of the most powerful tools we have to drive climate action—and to shape a more just, resilient, and sustainable world.
