DiP is a social enterprise that provides self-employment support services to people who have or are living in Direct Provision Centre. DiP is committed to discover the untapped/ unknown skills for refugees and asylum seekers. DiP is devoted to inspiring people who are living in challenging situations to rise above their difficult situations and reach for opportunities.
The following are the issues faced by refugees and asylum seekers and how DiP is responding (core objectivies) to these issues.
Issue #1: There are a lack of supports in identifying individual skill set in Direct Provision Centres.
Response: Providing support to identify unknown/untapped skills for people living in Direct Provision through a range of fundraising initiatives.
Issue #2: Refugees and asylum seekers face huge challenges in seeking employment.
Response: Providing upskilling, training, internship programmes and building relationships with the local community.
Issue #3: There is a lack of self-employment support services for refugees and asylum seekers.
Response: Providing self-employment support services (mentoring, business training and seminars) and building business networks for refugees and asylum seekers.
Mission: Is to support people who have or are living in direct provision to upskill/ reskill through our programme. We provide support on entrepreneurship skills development, providing mentoring and the experience of running small business in Ireland.
Vision: Empowered people, with a sense of autonomy and better mental wellbeing.
