The Day Care Centre which opened in 2007, was set up to promote the physical, mental and social well-being of the senior citizens of Ballymahon and the surrounding areas. Our Day Care services support older people to continue to live independently in their own homes and communities, offering a range of social and healthcare supports. Our services include the daily provision of cooked meals, social/recreational activities and self-care services. Transport to and from the centre is provided for many of the clients via the Rural Transport Scheme
The organisations structure consists of a voluntary Board of Trustees, Manager, Cook, Catering Assistants and Caretaker (CE Scheme), along with 12 volunteers who assist with daily activities.
(Convent House Day Care Centre receives much of its funding from the HSE)
