Not-For-Profit Information

Cloughjordan Community Farm (CCF) is a member owned and operated Community Supported Agriculture (CSA) initiative based in Cloughjordan Ecovillage, County Tipperary, in rural Ireland.

Our farm is set on 7 acres within 67 acres of beautiful land, within Cloughordan Ecovillage, an eco neighbourhood dedicated to ecological housing, woodland and active food production.

As Ireland’s first and only intentional community, the Ecovillage is actively focused on showing examples of how to respond to local and international issues concerning our environment and society, on a community level. It is home to approximately 55 households, along with a Hostel and a number of non-profit educational enterprises such as Cultivate, Sustainable Projects Ireland, FEASTA, Riot Rye Bakehouse and Bread School and the RED (Research Education and Demonstration) gardens.

Our Community Farm provides produce all year round to 80/90 families in the Cloughjordan area and is run on organic and biodynamic principles. Our aims are to improve the quality and quantity of food provided locally while reducing the environmental impact of food production, packaging and transport. Our organically grown food is delivered fresh from the ground (with zero packaging) to a nearby local collection point on Main Street for our community.

As a social enterprise, our Community Farm seeks to promote a healthy food culture and to guarantee a secure local food supply, as well as hosting training in resilient food systems and sustainable agriculture. Alongside this, we’re building direct and fair economic relations between producers and local consumers and providing viable and secure livelihoods for those involved.

Independently, and in association with locally based national NGOs such as Cultivate, we offer a number of hands-on courses throughout the year relating to food production and storage, seed saving, nutritional resilience, permaculture, adding value to agricultural produce, as well as networking and training events for the general public and those interested in setting up and maintaining CSAs and sustainable growing initiatives.

We also have links with the local primary schools and many other learning institutes, colleges and universities, who make regular visits to our Farm. After completing some new educational infrastructure, we are in the process of relaunching our Educational training wing: The Grow Hub - and are excited for its prospects to further our educational outreach and provide even more educational content for our volunteers and members.
