CHA is a small charitable AHB based in Skibbereen and working in Cork. Our main activity is currently Mortgages to Rent, where we buy properties where families unable to meet mortgage repayments, and keep them housed as tenants, paying council equivalent rents. We currently own 21 homes and are purchasing a further 9. We also conducted significant renovation works on homes and conducted energy retrofitting. We have adopted the Affinity system for rent management and the M3 Viso system for asset management, ensuring highest levels of compliance with AHBRA standards.
We now wish to extend and diversify its scope of our work to the development of New Build projects. We are currently working on a small community housing project for Serkin Island, which would deploy solar energy, storage and AI based energy management.], and are looking at a number of other options, some in Partnership with other AHBs
CHA has unique experience of the use of European Funding for social housing and have carried out four projects to date with EU Partners. This has been recognized by local and EU agencies through various Awards, including the CSH Allianz Award for Leading the Energy Transition in Social Housing
The current Board has consolidated our position as a small, innovative association, but we believe our scope needs to expand to meet today’s pressing housing needs I a inclusive and innovative manner For this reason we are looking for new skills, ideas and enthusiasm for our Board, to guide the Association at the time when our work is most needed,
