Blue Teapot Theatre Company

Blue Teapot is a multi award winning Theatre Company with an ensemble of actors who all have intellectual disabilities (ID). In addition we run an award winning, fully accredited Performing Arts School and outreach project 'Bright Soul' for people with ID.
Founded in 1996 as a community arts project in the Brothers of Charity Galway, Blue Teapot has grown considerably in recent years developing groundbreaking theatre that has been performed in three national festivals including Galway Arts Festival and The Dublin Fringe. To reflect the growth, Blue Teapot Theatre Company Ltd was formed with its own Charitable status in 2009.

Our mission: 'To effect positve change in public consciouness concerning people with intellectual disabilities through the medium of theatre by allowing our members inherant talent and creativity to speak for itself'.
Blue Teapot has a profesional theatre company of 9 actors with intellectual disabilities who create vibrant, pioneering theatre that imapacts audiences at both local and national levels. Our Performing Arts School is unique in ireland and offers accredited training in theatre skills to people with ID who would not otherwise be able to attend the traditional drama schools.To date all students have been 100 successful in certification at FETAC levels 2 and 3.
'Bright Soul' keeps a strong connection to our origins and offers performance opportunities and social engagement to those who want a creative outlet as an addition to their lives.
