Ballyowen Meadows Special School strives to provide effective, specialist education to pupils with an autistic spectrum disorder who are aged between 4 and 12 years.
Located in South Dublin, the school offers personalised teaching and learning within an autism specific environment to pupils with a wide spectrum of needs and abilities. By combining knowledge of autism and best practice, the school aims to enable each child to self-manage behaviour, communicate, manage transitions, develop choice-making, independence and social skills. This is achieved through the delivery of an adapted primary school curriculum, tailored for each child’s specific needs with the aim of allowing pupils to achieve their full potential in education and life and work towards inclusion, in as far as is possible.
