Canal House is a Dept of Justice Centre, supported by GRETB and SOLAS. The centre caters for 18 full time and additional part-time trainees, with trainees composed of those currently on Probation and those at risk of offending. The Project works closely with its partners to achieve outcomes for trainees, in particular with the Probation service. The overall aim of Ballinasloe Training Workshop is to enable positive change in attitudes and behaviour to take place in the lives of learners attending Canal House. The programme aims to reduce re-offending, increase capacity, confidence and life skills of participants towards enabling them to have increased employment and life opportunities and outcomes.
