At Amber Kilkenny Women’s Refuge CLG, it’s our mission to empower women and children, of all cultures and backgrounds, to achieve their rights to live abuse-free lives. We do this by providing a safe, secure, and supportive environment. At the refuge, we offer a comprehensive range of responses to their needs on, and off site. We work alongside others to safeguard children and women against the crime of Domestic Violence.

 We offer a range of services: 24-hour short term emergency refuge accommodation, 24-hour helpline, Support and information (drop-in or appointment based), Childcare programme for children affected by domestic violence, Court accompaniment service, Outreach services in Carlow and Kilkenny, Aftercare, Crisis counselling service, Play/Art therapy, Educational programmes to adolescent groups and schools and Awareness raising

Voluntary Board of Management. Staff consisting of Manager, Assistant Manager, 10 Project Workers, Childcare Worker, Relief Workers. The refuge consists of 7 self contained individual units. We receive our funding from Tusla (Child and Family Agency). We work collaboratively with statutory and voluntary organisations to meet the needs of our service users.
