Are you passionate about the value of volunteering and have a successful track record of strategic leadership. Membership on the board of the new Leitrim Volunteer Centre is an exciting opportunity to part of this initiative.

The Purpose of this Role
Leitrim Volunteer Centre is looking for a member of board of directors with a focus on HR.

Support & Training
Leitrim Volunteer Centre has a budget set aside for board director training, and all board members are encouraged to undertake training as part of their role. Training needs will be identified on an ad hoc basis, and also through a board review process.

Time Commitment
It is estimated at about 10 hours per year for board meetings with additional time required to read papers and prepare in advance of each meeting, plus involvement in sub-committees and advisory roles.

More about Us
Leitrim Volunteer Centre will help people who want to volunteer in their community to find suitable volunteer roles and help local organisations to recruit volunteers. We will also provide a range of other services including Garda vetting and training in volunteer management.

We recognise the potential of volunteering and encourage groups and organisations – be they private, statutory or voluntary and community – to think creatively about volunteering roles and to develop imaginative, non-traditional opportunities for potential volunteers.
