Deansrath Family Centre is seeking new board members to help shape the future of one of Ireland’s most trusted providers of services for children and families and crucially build a building to house all of the services under the one roof on a green field site that has just been secured from South Dublin County Council ,a Centre of Excellence for First Five services in Ireland. We are a multi agency, innovative, vital organisation that strives every day to make a real difference in the lives of children and families in the greater Clondalkin area.

Join our Board of Directors we are looking for 2-3 committed, experienced people to join our board of directors.

We have specific needs in terms of skills and experience, but above all, we need people who share our fundamental beliefs that children and families deserve to reach their maximum potential, and that comprehensive, best practice services make a real and measurable difference.

We need skills and input in the following areas:

  • Community insight: social and community activism; connections within the Clondalkin area
  • Stakeholder relations:  government & local authority funding and regulation
  • Fundraising/Philanthropy; fundraising; sponsorship
  • Finance
  • Governance: charities regulations; operations; board governance
  • Building, Capital Funds mangement

We welcome interest from everyone and especially encourage applications from people who reflect the diversity of our area and of the people who avail of our services. We also recognise that most people will have a background in no more than one or two areas, and welcome interest from those with limited but specific experience.

We also welcome new board members who may be interested in taking on the role of Chair.

Board operation

The board meets approximately six times per year plus the AGM and any other ad hoc meetings that the board may deem to be useful or necessary. As a charity with limited resources, we need board members who are action-oriented and who can actively engage in the shaping and delivery of strategic initiatives.

Board members serve a 3-year term, renewable to a maximum of 8 years in total. Deansrath Family Centre is a registered charity, and this is a voluntary, unpaid position.
