We are seeking members for our Voluntary Board of Directors.

Dublin North East Drug & Alcohol Task Force is one of twenty four drug task forces nationwide. The Task Force is funded by the Dept of Health through the Drug Policy Unit with additional funding through HSE Social Inclusion Addiction.

Our board is made up of statutory, voluntary, community and public representatives who work in partnership to provide and maintain a system of supports and services for individuals, families and communities through which existing and future problem drug use is prevented, reduced and managed.

We have a Task Force Membership of up to 20 and a voluntary group of Directors. We are open to applications for membership of our Directors' group.


Board Meetings:

We have board meetings every six weeks at which Directors attend. A Directors' meeting follows on conclusion of the Task Force membership meeting. The Task Force meeting is scheduled for two hours and one hour is allotted for the Directors' meeting.

Role and Responsibilities of the Task Force Board of Directors:

  • Ensure DNE Task Force has an appropriate legal structure and is representative
  • Make policy decisions and develop internal policies, procedures and codes of practice
  • Ensure the Task Force fulfills its legal obligations
  • Ensure accountability for all financial matters and delegate the financial management to the Finance Subgroup
  • Contribute to the development of Strategic Plans

Applicants with a track record in one or more of the following, are particularly welcome:

  • The governance of voluntary, community, non-profit sector organisations, social enterprise or have similar experience gained in other sectors.
  • Accounting / Financial Guidance
  • Legal or Company Governance Guidance
  • Business / Project Management
  • Addiction Services
  • Administration/ Change Management/ Human Resource Management
  • Marketing / Public Relations
