Volunteer Finance Trustee
This is an unpaid voluntary role.
Key Responsibilities:
- Qualifications: The candidate should have a recognised accounting qualification.
- Financial Oversight: Provide insights into financial policies and controls, propose recommendations and monitor financial procedures.
- Finance Committee Role: Serve on the Finance Committee to evaluate and monitor financial controls and ensure compliance with best practices.
- Authorised Signatory: Act as an authorised signatory for the company.
- Payments: Authorise weekly payroll and payments on BOI online.
- Board Advisory: Report to the board on financial implications, cash flow issues and other financial matters at each meeting.
- Finance sub-committee: Meetings are held online and held prior to a board meeting.
- Compliance and Risk Management: Ensure the organisation adheres to compliance and risk management standards.
- Check-ins: Connect with the CEO regularly to keep updated on project financial needs and Board requirements.
General Trustee Duties:
- Comply with the charity’s governing document.
- Ensure the charity fulfils its purpose for public benefit.
- Act in the charity’s best interest with reasonable care and skill.
- Manage the charity’s assets responsibly.
Meetings:
There are 10 scheduled board meetings held in Navan on Saturdays with online options available.
Finance sub-committee meetings are held online and held prior to a board meeting.
Specific sub-committee meetings held as required and agreed.
