Trustee with Community Development Experience
Trustee required for BCTC Board - preferably with experience of community development and engagement with early school leavers.
The Organisation:
Blanchardstown Community Training Centre provides second chance education and training for early school leavers aged between 16 and 21 years. The centre provides a range of vocationally focused training programs, offering QQI accreditation at Major Award Levels 3 & 4 as well as other industry recognised certifications such as City and Guilds and VTCT.. Some of the training courses on offer include Beauty Specialist Diploma, Barista Skills, Creative Digital Media, General Learning/ Work Experience/ Career Preparation, Information & Communication Technology Skills (Computers).
The centre also provides literacy and numeracy supports for learners who have additional needs in these areas.
The Role: Blanchardstown Community Training Centre are seeking to recruit a trustee with a background in community development.
The Board are particularly interested in individuals with recent and relevant experience in community development .
General duties of a Charity Trustee
- Comply with the Charity’s governing document
- Ensuring charity is complying with its charitable purpose for the public benefit
- Acting in the best interest of the charity
- Act with Reasonable Care and Skill
- Manage the assets of your charity
- Responsibilities will include the following:
- Providing input to the strategic direction of the Not-For-Profit and contributing with insight, oversight, and experience of strategy formulation in the sector
- Policy formation and implementation as required
Essential Skills/Qualities required for these roles:
A deep appreciation and knowledge of the Not-For-Profit sector •
An understanding of and commitment to our mission and values •
Commitment to highest levels of corporate governance
Board Meetings: There will be 6 board meetings per year.
Meetings are held in Coolmine, Dublin 15 (BCTC centre)
