We are looking to bring in a Director with suitable experience such as a formal accountancy degree to support the continued development of Olympic Handball Ireland. This is a volunteer (unpaid) role to assist in the application of good governance by the board and the organisation.
The Finance Director will:
- Collaborate with the Chairperson, Chief Executive, and Operations Director to develop financial strategies, policies, and budgets for board approval.
- Liaise with the Chief Executive and Operations Director on budgets, management accounts, year-end accounts, and related financial matters.
- Review the OHI’s planned budget and quarterly management accounts, offering advice to the board on financial issues.
- Ensure all decisions made are financially sustainable.
- Guarantee compliance with statutory and regulatory financial obligations.
- Act as an authorised signatory of the Olympic Handball Ireland bank account.
Ideal candidates will preferably have some of the following skills sets:
- A deep appreciation and knowledge of the Not-For-Profit sector.
- An understanding of and commitment to our mission and values.
- Commitment to the highest levels of corporate governance.
- Knowledge of Olympic handball is desirable but not essential
