Director
Here in Quarryvale FRC we are looking for interested people to join our Voluntary Board of Directors. We are a Family Resource Centre based in North Clondalkin with a catchment area of all of Dublin Mid-West. Our activities and services focus on working with local individuals, families and communities to enhance people's lives. We have a staff of 12 and a number of volunteers to support our work. We are an independent charity and a company limited by guarantee and we receive funding from e.g. Tusla and Pobal towards our work.
We are looking for people both from inside and outside our catchment area; if you have an interest in our communities and our work and could commit to ideally a minimum of two years we welcome you! The board meets approximately every six weeks, and we also have some on-going sub-groups and short-term working groups.
At the moment we are coming towards the end of a productive and interesting time putting together our new long-term plan. One exciting part of this plan is our work towards a new centre. It is very early days yet, but if you have experience in this area that would be most welcome. We also have a childcare service, therapy services, work with young adults with an intellectual disability, children and parent support work, work with young children and parents/carers, physical and mental well-being programmes, food bank and related food-based services and activities, work with immigrant communities and asylum seekers, suicide prevention work, and much more.
If you are interested in exploring joining our board - or indeed if your interest is e.g. strongly focused on childcare, building new centres, or therapeutic services and you would prefer joining a subgroup or working group - please get in touch and we can arrange for a chat and a meet-up.
