The Organisation:
Limerick Mental Health Association was founded in 2002 by a group of individuals who recognised the need for support and resources for those affected by mental health challenges in the local community. Since then, the association has worked to raise awareness, reduce stigma and promote positive mental health through a variety of programmes and initiatives. Today, LMHA continues to serve as a vital resource for individuals and families seeking support and guidance on their mental health journey.
We are currently expanding our services to include an evening service provided in Solace cafe and also a mental wellness at work programme for managers and HR professionals in the business community.
What We Do:
- Signposting
LMHA provides a free signposting service for all. We aim to make it as easy as possible for people to navigate the intricate world of mental health support services. If people are unsure of what support they need they can call us and we will direct them to the correct service.
- Peer Support
LMHA provides one to one and group peer support through our qualified peer support facilitators.
- Wellness Activities and Programmes
We provide a number of wellness activities and programs each year ranging from: YOGA, MINDFULLNESS, MUSIC THERAPY, ART THERAPY, WALKING GROUPS and much more…
- Limerick Mental Health Week
LMHA runs Limerick Mental Health Week every year. The week will provide a forum to generate discussion, reduce stigma and promote positive mental health and well-being. Finally, Limerick Mental Health Week highlights the range of supports and services which are available within the local community to support our mental health.
