Every role listed on our website is voluntary, unremunerated (not paid), and based in Ireland.

Board member

St. Michael’s House (SMH) is one the largest providers of supports and services to children and adults with a disability in the greater Dublin area. It has a staff complement of over 1,900 employees and delivers services to over 1,900 children and adults, their families, and carers in over 180 locations.

Inequalities in care, health and community participation are experienced by people with disabilities as they age in Ireland. A pro-active response is required to ensure full and fulfilling life opportunities for all people growing older in Ireland and, especially, for those ageing with disabilities.

To address this fact SMH has established a Fundraising Foundation in order to raise much needed additional funding to support the development of identified specific projects which will enhance the lives of service users.

The Board of the Foundation are now seeking applications from suitably qualified individuals to join the SMH Foundation Board to help guide, support and advise the Chief Executive Officer of the Foundation in carrying out the functions of their role.

Expressions of interest are invited from candidates who are willing to volunteer their time and expertise to assist the SMH Foundation in achieving its’ strategic plan. The ideal candidates will have a background in one of or all of these areas, Fundraising, Public Relations, Marketing, Sales or Communications.

Expressions of interest for individuals wishing to join the Board of SMH Foundation should be made by contacting the Company Secretary of St. Michael’s House, Mr. Karl Wren on 087 7528455 or by emailing karl.wren@smh.ie by 29th May 2026.
