St Michaels Credit Union is located at Skehard Road, Blackrock Cork . T12 D302.
We are currently seeking volunteers to join either our Board of Directors or become a member of one of our Committees Full training and induction are provided by the Credit Union.
Whether this is your first time volunteering for a position or you have prevous experience we want to hear from you. While there are no specific skills that are absolutely essential, the attach list is not exhaustive - Enthuasism , interest and a willingness to be involved is required.
Sharing your skills and expertise to contribute in an organisation that is committed to deliver sustainable services for our members and continue our community development and social good throughout our communities of Blackrock & Mahon.
You must either live or work in the Blackrock & Mahon areas of Cork to be a member and eligible OR must be a current member of St Michaels Credit Union.
Being a volunteer can be extremely fulfilling as it allows you engage and take an active role in decisions that shape our business and support local communities. It also brings many other advantages including an appreciation of how Credit Unions operate and an added experience for your CV if required. It will also allow you use your experiences to learn and grow with us.
If you have some free time and would like to get involved with your local credit union on a voluntary basis, this will be perfect for you.
Not everyone may seek to jump in as a Director. We are seeking individuals with lending experience (MCC qualified) to join our Credit Control Committee or our Credit Committee. Perhaps you are working in a financial institution or recently retired and want to use your knowledge. These committees meet for appx 1 hour a month so it may suit you. Our Credit Control Committe is virtual.
St Michaels Credit Union is based in Blackrock Cork with assets > €64m and serving 13,000 members. Surplus income is returned in the form of dividends/loan rebates or is directed to improved member services and into community sponsorships and supports.This is a real circular economy.#supporting local.

St Michaels Credit Union exists to serve our members ; we cannot exist in our Community without a Board and panel of committed volunteers and we seek your support.
We know volunteering is a committment not all can make and we will fully support you become part of our team. The benefits of volunteering are very rewarding , you will gain new interests, friendships , learn new skills and know you are enhancing the lives and financial well being of local communities .
Your existing knowledge and experiences when combined with others helps us make decisions that best help our credit union.
NB: You do not need to be a current member but You must LIVE or WORK (i.e your employer address) within the environs of our communities of Blackrock and Mahon Cork or be an existing member.
