Vice Chair
Title of Position: Vice Chairperson
Area of Responsibility: Canal Communities Local Drug and Alcohol Task Force (CCLDATF), covering Bluebell, Inchicore and Rialto.
Term of Office: 3 years.
Salary and Remuneration: The Vice Chairperson is a voluntary, non-salaried position. Reasonable travel and phone expenses will be reimbursed in accordance with public financial regulations.
Time Commitment
It is estimated that the role will require approximately 1–2 working days per month, with additional time required when deputising for the Chairperson or leading agreed areas of work.
The Vice Chairperson will be expected to:
· Attend monthly CCLDATF Task Force and Board meetings, chairing meetings in the Chairperson’s absence where required.
· Lead regular Strategic Plan implementation reviews with the Chairperson and Coordinator.
· Lead or participate in relevant Violence Intervention Strategy oversight and planning meetings.
· Meet regularly with the Violence Intervention Manager and Coordinator to review progress.
· Attend relevant meetings with the HSE, funders and other external partners alongside, or in place of, the Chairperson where required.
Desirable Competencies
It is desirable that the successful candidate has:
· Experience of bringing people and organisations from different sectors together and working effectively in partnership.
· An understanding of drugs and alcohol issues, social inclusion, community development, community safety and violence intervention.
· Experience or understanding of strategic planning, performance monitoring and implementation of multi-year plans.
· Knowledge or experience of staff, team or organisational governance.
· A collaborative and solutions-focused approach to problem solving.
· Experience in a Vice Chairperson, Board or similar leadership role.
