Trustee with Medical Experience

Casadh is seeking a Medical Professional (e.g., Methadone-prescribing Doctor / Level 2 GP or Nurse Practitioner) to join its Management Committee / Board of Directors. This is a voluntary governance role.

Ideal Candidate Profile

• Registered medical doctor (with experience in opioid agonist treatment / methadone maintenance) or qualified Nurse Practitioner in addiction / primary care.
• Understanding of HSE addiction services, Methadone Treatment Protocol, community detox pathways, and harm reduction approaches in Ireland.
• Experience in clinical governance, patient safety, quality improvement, or service delivery in addiction/recovery settings is highly desirable.
• Passion for community-based recovery, social inclusion, and supporting marginalised individuals.
• Strong strategic thinker with governance mindset – able to contribute to oversight of policies, risk management, partnerships (HSE, DSP, Task Force), funding, and programme quality.
