Who we are: MOVE Ireland (Men Overcoming Violent Emotions) is a national voluntary organisation working in the area of domestic violence. The organisation supports the safety and wellbeing of women and their children who are experiencing violence / abuse in their intimate relationships. The Choices programme is a group work intervention programme for men who perpetrate this violence and want to change their behaviour. Full details of our service can be found at www.moveireland.ie

Overall aim of the position:
Responsibilities:
- Act with integrity and upholding the interests of the organisation.
- Support sensible policy development.
- Commit to and support MOVE IRELAND’S vision, mission, values, and objectives.
- Attend Board meetings and participate in additional committee meetings as required.
- Shape the strategy of MOVE IRELAND including inputting to the strategic direction and bring experience of strategy formulation from other sectors.
- Ensure compliance with good governance documents.
- Promote effective management of organisational resources.
- Develop internal systems that are transparent and accountable to stakeholders.
- Support the planning and development of key activities.
- Attend training for Board members.
Skills:
Professional experience in a similar role, e.g., as a Board Member in the private, non-profit, or public sector
- Understanding of the community and voluntary sector landscape.
- Strong interpersonal, communication and listening skills.
- Strong Business/ HR/ Management skills
- Personable Skills
- Any other skill that would add value to our organisation.

Screening Process:
- Informal Interviews

Time Commitment
- Minimum of 2 years on the Board
- Preparation for Board meetings
- Attendance of Board meetings (every 6 weeks) optional via zoom
- Board Training (ad hoc)
