Trustee – Fundraising, Grant Writing & Partnerships
Help build a stronger future for people living with ataxia.
Ataxia Foundation Ireland is seeking a new trustee to help us grow our fundraising and grant-writing capacity. This is an opportunity to bring your experience, ideas and connections to a national charity supporting people affected by ataxia and their families.
About Ataxia Foundation Ireland
Ataxia Foundation Ireland supports people living with ataxia and their families through information, practical advice, services and opportunities to connect with others. Our work helps people navigate the challenges of ataxia and feel part of a supportive community.
The opportunity
Could your experience help us reach new supporters, build partnerships and secure funding for the future?
We are looking for an enthusiastic trustee to join our Board and help strengthen our approach to fundraising and grant applications.
You would bring fresh thinking to how we identify funding opportunities, communicate the value of our work and develop relationships with potential supporters. Your contribution would help us build a more sustainable foundation for the charity’s work.
We welcome interest from people with relevant experience in fundraising, philanthropy, business development, communications, corporate partnerships or community leadership. You do not need to bring every one of these skills: we are interested in the strengths you could contribute and your commitment to our purpose.
How you could contribute
Working with fellow trustees and the AFI team, you would help us to:
- Identify suitable grant opportunities and contribute to compelling applications.
- Develop a focused, realistic approach to fundraising.
- Build relationships with potential funders, corporate partners and supporters.
- Strengthen how we present our work and its impact to prospective funders.
- Contribute to Board discussions, decisions and the charity’s longer-term direction.
Alongside this specialist contribution, you would share the Board’s wider responsibilities for the charity’s governance and oversight. Charity trustees must act in the charity’s interests, exercise care and diligence, and manage conflicts of interest
