Trustee with Fundraising Experience

Core Role Responsibilities

1. Fundraising

• Support the Board and executive leadership in the development and implementation of a comprehensive, long-term fundraising strategy aligned with the organisation’s goals.
• Provide strategic guidance on diversifying funding streams.
• Help the executive team establish key performance indicators (KPIs) to monitor the effectiveness and Return on Investment (ROI) of fundraising campaigns.

2. Board Governance & Compliance

• Ensure that all fundraising activities comply with legislation and guidelines (e.g., the Charities Regulator governance code).
• Identify and manage risks related to fundraising, including reputational risk and adherence to data protection regulations.

3. Advocacy & Network Utilisation

• Act as an ambassador for the charity.
• Guide and support the internal fundraising staff, offering mentorship or Chairing a dedicated Fundraising Committee.

Person Specification

• Experience: Experience in a fundraising role, charity development, or relevant corporate business development.
• Knowledge: Understanding of philanthropic giving, donor relationship management and modern digital fundraising trends.
• Skills: Strong communication, strategic planning, and the ability to influence and inspire stakeholders
