Trustee - focus on compliance and governance

Active Connections is seeking a strategic leader to join our Board of Directors with a specific focus on Governance and Compliance. As we continue to expand our impact, we require a professional who ensures our organization operates with the highest integrity, meeting all legal, ethical, and regulatory standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversight: Monitor adherence to national and local regulations, ensuring the organization remains in good standing with all governing bodies.

• Policy Development: Lead the review and enhancement of internal policies, bylaws, and ethical frameworks to mitigate institutional risk.

• Audit & Risk Management (non financail based risk): Oversee internal audits and risk assessment processes, providing critical feedback on financial and operational transparency.

• Strategic Guidance: Advise the Board on best practices in non-profit governance, ensuring that board culture remains accountable and mission-driven.

Candidate Profile

The ideal candidate possesses a background in Law, Corporate Governance, or Risk Management. You should be a "big picture" thinker who doesn't mind diving into the details of a compliance report. We value candidates who bring:
