Youth Work Ireland North Connaught – Board of Directors

Purpose of the Role

To support the Board in providing strong financial oversight, ensuring the organisation’s sustainability, compliance, and effective use of resources.

Key Responsibilities

• Advise the Board on budgeting, financial planning, resource allocation, and overall financial strategy.

• Review financial reports and highlight risks, trends, and opportunities.

• Ensure compliance with the Charities Governance Code, funding requirements, and relevant legislation.

• Support the annual audit and review of financial policies, controls, and procedures.

• Contribute to risk management, including reserves and cashflow planning.

• Participate in Board and relevant committee meetings and work collaboratively with trustees and the CEO/Manager.

Person Requirements

• Professional background in finance, accounting, audit, or similar.

• Strong understanding of financial statements and risk management.

• Commitment to good governance, integrity, and confidentiality.

• Willingness to contribute time, expertise, and strategic insight to support youth work in the region.
