Trustee with Financial Expertise
Youth Work Ireland North Connaught – Board of Directors
Purpose of the Role
To support the Board in providing strong financial oversight, ensuring the organisation’s sustainability, compliance, and effective use of resources.
Key Responsibilities

Advise the Board on budgeting, financial planning, resource allocation, and overall financial strategy.

Review financial reports and highlight risks, trends, and opportunities.

Ensure compliance with the Charities Governance Code, funding requirements, and relevant legislation.

Support the annual audit and review of financial policies, controls, and procedures.

Contribute to risk management, including reserves and cashflow planning.

Participate in Board and relevant committee meetings and work collaboratively with trustees and the CEO/Manager.
Person Requirements

Professional background in finance, accounting, audit, or similar.

Strong understanding of financial statements and risk management.

Commitment to good governance, integrity, and confidentiality.

Willingness to contribute time, expertise, and strategic insight to support youth work in the region.
